Cheese and Miscellany I enjoy:
Cato Corner
Cato Corner
My first cheese home -- my cheese adolescence, if you will -- and makers of what remain some of my favorite cheeses ever.
Black Sheep Creamery
Where I grew into my cheese skin, took on more responsibility, and made delightful tacos with award-winning Queso de Oveja and fresh veggies I bartered for at the Portland farmers market.
The Wedge & Bottle
A new cheese store in Phoenix, Arizona, owned and operated by two of my cheese friends, Krista and Troy. We met at the American Cheese Society conference and connected through the dream of opening a cheese business. At the moment, they happen to be way more organized in making said dream materialize than I am. If you're in the area, go take a gander! They're warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable -- you know, your usual cheese people.
Cheese Bar
One of my favorite cheese stores, specializing in my favorite pairing: cheese and beer. My role model, nay, my super hero of cheese stores. Every city needs a place like this
glory
Sure, I chose the road less traveled by ditching a safe occupation to follow what some called a pipe dream. Sure, I ran a couple marathons. Sure, someday I may have a first born child. But there would be no prouder moment in my life than creating a concoction that wins The Grilled Cheese Invitational.
Ambyr D'Amato
A good friend, and NYC-based singer/songwriter making music scientifically proven to be awesome. It's a fact.
